Edible Ribbon a great way to finish cakes. The reason for this post is I wanted to share my excitement when I found the edible ribbon on cake craft world! I had never heard of it before, never knew it even existed so I really wanted to give it a try.
The design in the main feature was made by myself for my brothers birthday cake, i used white ganache to cover the cake before using white chocolate cigarellos, I then used the edable ribbon to hold them all neatly together and to complete the look.
The edible ribbon i originally found (left) is made by Renshaws and came in a 1m length.
It comes in plain white (pictured) but also pictured it can be sprayed with gold lutre dust by cake craft world.
Since using the edible ribbon I wanted to have a look for ones in different colours, textures ect and came across these on The Cake Decorating company:
I loved how a simple ribbon could add so much to a cake, my family were also amazed that you could eat it
From finding edible ribbon I then stumbled across edible chocolate transfer sheets, these sheets can be used to wrap around cakes too!! They come in various colours and designs and can be used to cover cakes, make funky chocolate designs and more. But I’m guessing that’s a whole new post. Check here for here to use transfer sheets in various ways its addictive.
